2025-Search-Ocean-Infinity

Inspite of the absence of contract with the Malaysian Authorities, Ocean Infinity Armada 78-06 ship started to scan the potential search areas in a first pass we call Phase 1. Phase 2 appears to start within 24h which seems to cover the recommended area by the CAPTION analysis. View the updated track here.

The Armada 78-06 appears to be heading towards the Blelly/Marchand area as recommended in the report. On 10 March, 13:38 UTC, it is approximately 160 Nm from it and the trajectory is pointing south of the recommended area (see image below).

The Blelly/Marchand area consists of two parts: the pink area is the main area calculated if the flight continued straight on its trajectory and the yellow area was calculated if, during its gliding phase, the aircraft was deviated due to unexpected local elements such as wind strength, exact swell direction etc. Both areas were calculated with the hypothesis of a glide effectively from flight level ~FL235 i.e. 67 Nm.

Situation on 10 March 2025 at 13:38 UTC.
